For Businesses – How To Make Money By Using Social Media Marketing

Social media is becoming increasingly more integrated into our lives, and for businesses, it’s an important key element to the marketing mix.   I’m a mum working from home in an online business and as I understand the importance of social media marketing, I’d like to share my experiences for the benefit of other business owners.

Your customers and future customers are using social media and it’s a great way to engage with them.  In addition to maintaining an online presence with your website, you need to be visible with a social presence also.

The worldwide recession is forcing us to add value to our businesses, so if you embrace social media marketing, the benefits will help to keep you trading in the future.

If you’re on a limited marketing budget, social media marketing is the most cost effective way to reach customers with information about your products, product news, sales, deals and more and you’ll find that if you devote an employee’s time, even on a part time basis, to setting up and running your social media marketing, you’ll have the ability to reach millions of potential customers that otherwise may never hear about you.

If you use some of the most popular social media marketing methods including blogging, you’ll have a very powerful outreach program that will raise awareness in your brand which in turn, brings credibility for your company.

Social media marketing will help build customer relations and if your consumers can easily share frustrations with products or customer service directly with you and get feedback, they will feel more confident in your brand and have a better connection to it.

Likewise, if consumers feel you value their feedback and you implement their suggestions,  for example, what to name a product or a perception of a product, they are far more likely to remain loyal to your brand and act as ambassadors on your behalf.

Social media can also generate high traffic to your business and in turn, increase sales which increases your return on investment (ROI).

It’s become an invaluable and necessary set of tools to add to your arsenal in the 21st Century and given the many ways we access the Internet including mobile phones and other devices in addition to computers, social media is set to continue the upward growth trend.

We may as well face it, it’s here to stay and we have to move with the times and best of all, it’s FREE.

Global Internet users top the 2 billion mark of which almost 300 million are in North America, almost 800 million in Asia, 450 million in Europe, 70 million in Africa, 200 million in Latin America & the Caribbean and 20 million in Australia and New Zealand.

Business owners are starting to wake up to the fact that they need to actively engage in social media marketing but many are unsure how to go about it. Maybe I can help from my own experiences here.

There are currently over 30,000 social media sites but this number is increasing by 300 each month and where do you start? Where do you focus your time and energy to get a return on your investment? It can seem like a minefield.

Whatever industry you’re in, you can create useful information in the form of blogs, articles and videos to share that others will find value in and learn from.  You don’t blatantly sell your products or services in social media. Your valuable content that is informative, educational and entertaining, enables consumers to get to know and trust you first. It then leads them from your social media sites to your website and that’s when you do your sales pitch. That’s how social media marketing works.

The three top giants that have become household names that I would recommend are Facebook, Twitter and Youtube.

Facebook has over 600 million active users and these people are logging in for an average of half an hour each day so you need to get your messages in front of them.  This represents a massive marketing opportunity so you’ll need a Facebook Page.

Twitter has been around for over five years amounting to over 10 billion tweets sent which equates to around 50 million tweets each day and this number is rising rapidly.  It’s the place to find out what’s happening in the world. It provides instant updates on almost any topic.

Another giant is Youtube, the second largest Search Engine to Google and owned by Google, streaming over 2 billion videos each day.  Every minute, twenty-four hours of new video footage is uploaded and the average person spends fifteen minutes a day on Youtube viewing content, representing another massive marketing opportunity.

If you implement some of these strategies into your business, you’ll be heading in the right direction for sure.

How Can I Make Money In An Online Job Now I’ve Been Made Redundant?

How can I make money in an online job now I’ve been made redundant, was the burning question on my mind a year ago.  I’d been in a regular job working for a boss all my life until that point and expected that’s how it would stay until my retirement but it wasn’t to be. It came as a shock I can tell you.  Never had a boss telling me I had to go before.  A hundred of my colleagues had to go too so we were all in the same boat.

This happened in August 2010 and I went through a range of emotions including disbelief and shock. It was upsetting and I found myself repeatedly thinking why me?  If this has happened to you then  you’ll know what it feels like. It’s something I never want to go through again. Once was enough.

I knew I’d have to find a job to help support my family and that’s when I turned to the Internet as I knew I wanted to work at home for the first time in my life.  Made perfect sense as there are around two billion people searching the Internet every day looking for products and services. I knew that’s where I’d find what I was looking for.  And I did.

That’s when I met Jay Kubassek and Carbon Copy Pro. It’s Jay’s community of expert Internet marketers that are teaching me how to sell anything to anyone anywhere in the world.  The top earners of the company are teaching me everything I need to know about online marketing  and they share all their strategies so I can implement them into my business.

So, I’m one of the lucky few who has found a solution to their problem.  What I really appreciate most of all is the freedom it gives me these days. If I want to drive my daughter to school, I can. If I need to take her to see the dentist or doctor, I can and there’s no worrying about how I’m going to approach my boss to get the time off.  This is the best part of all. Having the freedom to be there for my family when they need me. It’s something I’ve never had before. It also gives me my own financial freedom and I’m no longer dependent on a boss for my paycheck.

So maybe what I’m doing would suit you too. Why not take a look at your life and see if you are always away from your loved ones and never there when they need you most. That was me and I’d like to help others achieve the same freedom I have.  Freedom to be my own boss with the right work and family balance. Something I’m never going to give up.

So if you’ve ever asked yourself the same question that I did – how can I make money in an online job, whether or not you’ve been made redundant, then you can always put your name and details into the box on my page and you can meet Jay just like I did and see for yourself.

Welcome to My Blog!

I’m Lindsey Rowe, and I’m so glad you’re here. You see, last year, along with a hundred or so other colleagues, I was made redundant from a job I thought was secure. My job was demanding but I loved it. It was great fun, satisfying, challenging and hard work — and I’ve never been one to shy away from that! Although management had tried to prepare all staff with warnings of necessary cut backs due to governmental cuts and budgetary constraints, it still came as a shock. Nothing can ever prepare you for it. Nothing like that had ever happened to me before and it hit me like a bolt out of the blue. It’s hard not to take it personally but you do. I went through a range of emotions including bitterness, bewilderment, and anger. I asked myself repeatedly, Why Me?  Feeling de-valued was one of the hardest parts.

Even though it all seemed unjustified, I’ve tried to live my life believing that everything happens for a reason and that a new opportunity is always available if you are open to it. I could not have been more right! As it turns out, losing my job was the best thing that ever happened to me, and I discovered a wealth creation system that has allowed me to rediscover the joys of motherhood without compromising my desire to have a professional life. Now, I work for myself and have unlimited control over my future wealth. In this blog, I’ll talk more about what I’ve done to create success and what you can do to accomplish your goals. I’m redefining my life by taking control of my financial destiny, and I’m hoping you will join me on this adventure!

Mum Working from Home – Why I Decided to Start my Own Online Business

Have you been conditioned to think that in order to make a living to support your family, you need to have a regular job working for a boss? That this is your lot in life and to be reliant on someone else to provide your paycheck. Has it ever occurred to you that you could be the master of your own future? Wouldn’t you like to be a mum working from home and be your own boss?

You are probably so used to thinking that the traditional 9 – 5 job (or similar) is your only route. Additionally, it might never occur to you that thousands of people all over the world are starting to change the way they think and are looking for ways to support themselves.

This would sound scary to some, and it is. Few of us find change easy and for so many people this will never happen. Most will want to keep the status quo and stay with what they consider is the safe option. In the uncertain world in which we live, where economies fluctuate and falter and job losses and redundancies become the ever increasing norm, people are venturing into new territories, stretching their comfort zones and starting their own businesses, often from the convenience of their own home.

This is exactly what happened to me.

All my life I’d been a loyal employee, building a successful career, with the mindset that this is how life was.

Then out of the blue, I was made redundant and I had to figure out what to do next and that was scary.

In the beginning, I went though a range of emotions, to questioning why this had happened to me. It seemed so unfair, particularly as I’d always been told that I’d done a great job.

My position had been as a School’s Liaison and Marketing Officer for a Further Education college and I’d spent many hours doing presentations to students giving advice on career options, including the importance of transferable skills. How ironic, I never thought for one moment the advice I’d given them would apply to me.

I’d impressed upon the stu

dents that in order to maximise their career potential, they’d have to make sure they got a good education, and with it, plenty of transferrable skills. These skills would stand them in good stead when changing careers I’d told them, unlike many of our forebears who’d had just one job throughout their lifetime and that in the 21st century many were likely to have to change jobs and careers several times.

So now I was needing to take my own advice and make plans for the future.

I knew I’d never work for a boss again. Not under any circumstances. Working in a 9 – 5 situation had completely compromised my family life.  My job, for the most part, came first and my family second. I’d never been comfortable with that.

Not being able to take my daughter to school, attend school functions, even take her to the doctor or dentist. The kind of normal things most parents want and need to do but rarely can. This was me and I wasn’t going back to that way of life.

So this was a turning point in my life and I knew this was meant to be. I no longer felt like a victim and I made a conscious decision to be positive about the situation I’d had forced on me. This was a brilliant time to utilise my many life skills and put my efforts and energies into a business of my own.

My family was my number one priority and nothing was going to dampen my determination to find an alternative route. This was of huge comfort to me and gave me the strength to remain positive.

This was when I decided to turn to the Internet where I found the perfect solution.  A new chapter was about to start for me and I felt liberated. I was going to be a mum working from home, running my own business on the Internet.

So my advice to anyone in a similar situation is to take stock, be clear on what skills you have, what your priorities are, have a positive mindset and look for options that might not initially be the obvious choice.  Like me, you will get through this.
